Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I know mine was an action packed weekend..... My family and friends put on a surprise birthday party for me and wow....... what a time. I want to thank everyone for the work in organizing it and all the wonderful gifts. I couldn't have been more thrilled ...... It definitely was a "Royal" event.

This was a quick birthday card stamped in versafine black ink with the centre dragonfly coloured with glittery pen to make that pop of colour. The background was shaded with blue and cream inks and cut out using my nesties and layered on basic grey card stock. Added three grommets for that masculine look and complete.

Hope everyone remembered to turn back the clocks 1 hour. Got to love that extra hour in the day to get things done....... Last night we attended a VIP evening to raise money for the Children's Treatment Foundation. Whoot Whoot........... totally successful with an amazing amount of money raised. Stephanie and Dale, Peter and Veronica you guys rock! Needless to say the entire evening ROCKED OUT!!! Coyote Ugly has nothing on us gals!

Here is a card I made for friends who celebrated their 25th Anniversary. Congratulations Doug and Andrea and many many more years to come. Another one of those simply elegant designs I love to make. White base with a layer of shimmery silver then a cuttlebug embossed layer where I added silver gems, silver #25 and for the finishing touch a most elegant shimmery wide silver ribbon.

Fall Weddings

Hello Folks..........there is nothing like fall weddings. A long time friend's daughter was planning her wedding and asked me to make "Special" Thank You cards for her bridesmaids, Maid of Honour and a "Very Special Mother". Needless to say I was thrilled to be asked and wanted to make simple yet elegant cards for Sara!

The base of the card I used swiss dot cuttlebug folder, added silk ribbon in burnt orange which was the colours of the bridesmaids dresses, stamped Thank You then cut out with my nesties, doubled layered the flower then spritz it with glitter mist and added a burnt orange gem to the centre and voila........my version of simply elegant for Sara!

This was the card I created for the Very Special Mother. Once again used the swiss dot cuttlebug folder for the background, layered on burnt orange card stock, added the double layered flower but this time added an elegant soft burnt orange pearl for the centre then for that little extra sparkle couldn't resist adding decorative clear gems accenting the flower. The "Thanks So Much"verse was stamped with versa mark and embossed then punch out using my heart nesties.

Autumn

Autumn is one of my favourite times of year with the amazing colours of reds, yellows, and orange trees. The air is fresh a bit cool but when the sun is shining it just warms the soul. Yesterday was a great day to do some yard work ......planted a few mums, emptied flower pots and trimmed bushes and trees.

Coloured this Stamping Bella image with copics and prisma pencils, layered using my nesties on fall papers. When I was browsing at my favourite local stamping store I seen this EK leaf punch and HAD to have it....what a perfect way to add detail to your papers and embellish with the leaves that are punched out.

No Rain Today

Ahhh........... "No Rain Today" Here in southwestern Ontario we have had about 13 days of rain...... wet soggy....uggh............However today and according to the weather man the remainder of the week is suppose to be sunny and low 70's. Gotta luv that forecast especially with the Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. Whoot Whoot!

This card was coloured using copics and pencils, cut out using spellbinders all layered on lime green, and striped dp. Used my EK punch to dress up the right side then added some green baubles. You can't really see but used crystal effects on the boots and the rain drop and do I need to say........ no card is complete without glitter LOL which I added to the umbrella. Too cute!

Pop It Up

Hello folks........here is a Birthday card I created for the Stamping Bella "Pop it Up" challenge. Fishabella was coloured using copics and prisma pencils then cut out using my nesties "popped up" and layered on some dp, royal blue and shimmery yellow papers. Thought it needed something other than a worm at the end of the fishing rod so added a 37 representing the age of the birthday recipient. As usual I can not complete a card without some glitter so added some stickles to Bella's short outfit.

There is nothing better than getting together with some old friends talking about our early years together. Good times and a ton of laughs........... Attended my girlfriend of 45 years, daughters Stag and Doe last night. Man oh man I was laughing so hard I was crying.... my sides and cheeks still hurt. Her brothers were there as well and we got talking about the days when her parents went on vacation for 6 weeks. To say the least we didn't attend much high school during that period but we played a lot of "Indian" (drinking game), food fights and GI Joe. Every weekend we were up to something.

This card was made for my Pister #1 who looked after little Oliver our new dashound while we were on vacation. This stamp is from Stamping Bella which was coloured using copics and pencils then cut out using my nesties. The rich colours used was a burnt orange with brown polka dot dp. Used Martha Stewart butterfly punch, added some yellow/gold gems, burnt orange organza ribbon and of course glitter to the flowers.

Good morning everyone............ I seem to have been missing in action from the blogging world but as you know summers are always jammed packed with so much I find it is hard to work everything into my schedule. Once in a while I do manage to colour up an image or two which I set aside until I need a card.

This particular card I used the spellbinders leaf dye cut set. I cut the leaf from a bronze colour metal sheet layered on brown and mustard colour papers then added a few gems and ribbon . Very quick and simple card that could be used for so many occasions.

What a fabulous day it turned out to be........ Celebrated a 1st Birthday, 5th Birthday and Father's Day. I will share those cards on later posts. Today I want to show case a card I made for my BFF Tracy and what better image to use but the BFF stamp by Mo Manning.

I coloured the image using copics and pencils, cut out with my nesties, added DP and a gorgeous sheer wide ribbon all layered to olive green base. For the finishing touch I added glitter to the outfits on the girls and 3 Basic Grey brads to the bottom right corner.

.......start of another work week......... kind of makes you ask where the weekends go. I swear I jam so much stuff in a weekend that it is one big blurr to me....... anyway Friday cooked hot dogs and served drinks for the annual Pet & Hobby show here in our hometown, then Saturday morning spent time visiting with my girlfriend who is helping me with ideas for decorating our deck. Saturday afternoon hubby and I joined in on a poker run with our little two seater car followed by a steak BBQ. Lots of fun and laughs. Sunday got up bright and early to babysit my neice and nephew while my brother and sister-in-law participated in a 1/2 marathon run. Whoot whoot...... Steph got 2nd for the ladies in her age group and my brother Dale also got 2nd in the men's category. For being their first marathon thought this was amazing.......... Way to go guys! Oh and by the way your children were wonderful as usual. We had a fun filled day by attending church followed by a bit of shopping then lunch. Headed over to my BFF Tracy's for a visit and to pick up some perennials. For those who may not know, Tracy of Buttons Ribbons and Pearls has the most amazing backyard with a pool, and beautiful gardens. It truly is a calming retreat so once again feeding off my BFF to get ideas to help me out with our yard.

Stratford Weekend!

I bet you thought I got washed away in all this wet rainy weather we have been having...... It has been a while since my last post but time does get away on me....... Anyway this weekend will be heading to Stratford with my BFF Tracy from Buttons, Ribbons, and Pearls and our hubbys. This is definitely one of my favourite weekends of the year......spending time quality time with my bestest buddy, seeing a play, fine dining and of course a bit of shopping.

Wanted to share this Birthday Card I gave to William for his 7th birthday. This stamp is Bronte and Louis by the most talented Mo Manning which I coloured using copics and pencils. Cut out the image with my nesties and layered on mirrored red, royal blue and DP. Decided to use one of my EK edge punches and finish with 3 coordinating buttons.

Yeah.... the weekend is here. Last night met a few friends at the Imperial Club for a few cocktails and a BBQ dinner. This was one of a few fundraisers coming down the pipe for a girls basketball team who will be travelling to Florida to play. It seem half the town of Dresden was there too support the girls so had an opportunity to visit with people I haven't seen in a while. Today my plans are to head to Chatham and attend a copic class at my favourite local stamping store The Paper Pickle where Linda Heavens will be teaching colouring with copics. Should be fun and will learn lots I am sure and since the weather here in southwestern Ontario refuses to cooperate and allow the sun to shine makes it ok to be indoors.

Here is a card I gave a friend for her birthday. I found it to be simple but elegant. I picked out a mustard colour base layered brown, some beautiful DP, and yellow netting type material, then embossed a piece of shiny brown paper through the cuttlebug where I added a gem to the centre of the flower. With my butterfly spellbinders template cut out 1 large butterfly and 1 smaller butterfly from copper colour "tin" sheet, glued them together and added 3 gems to their body. Taaa daaa complete.......... a simple / elegant card and could be used for many occasions............. Happy Mother's Day to all and have a great weekend.

Warm...sunny.....& NO snow!

The weather wouldn't cooperate in southwestern Ontario so my hubby & I decided to head to sunny Florida for a couple of weeks. Wow the weather here is gorgeous 85 and sunny ..... just what the doctor ordered. This is definitely a much needed break from work and night school. Soooo glad the night school is done.

This is a milestone year for many of my friends and co-workers. I created this House Mouse card for my supervisor who is turning 40. Chose this image because I am certain Marianne will be out celebrating with a couple of cocktails as well as the "teamwork" perception.....helping get that olive. The image was coloured in copics and pencils, layered with nesties on some bright, happy decorative paper. Since glitter and bling is always in my vocabulary I had to add glitter to the martini glass, lots rhinestones to the left corner and ribbon. Used the daisy edge punch from EK for the 2 flowers at the bottom where I added the number 40. Have a wonderful birthday Marianne and see you in a couple of weeks!

Happy 50th Pister from another mother......LOL LOL My BFF Tracy and I have been friends about 45 of those years and must say 45 years of great times and a ton of laughs. Wanted something very bright and cheery........just like her!!! The image is from Stamping Bella which was coloured with copics and pencils, inked up some circle chip board, added puffed 50 numbers for a bit of dimension, polka dot ribbon and of course GLITTER!! Ta da....... Tracy loved the card and thought it was one of the best coloured cards yet....whoot whoot.....now coming from Tracy that is quite the compliment. .......its beautiful its beautiful...........hmmm that song just came to mind when I typed that title....and now can't seem to get it out of my head...LOL LOL I don't want to jump the gun here but this week we have seen some pretty decent weather. Fingers crossed that it keeps getting better and better! Yup bring on the sun....the crocuses, the birds........ I am ready!

Here is a quick card I threw together for a young gents birthday. The image was coloured using copics and pencils, glitter added to the balloons, layered using nesties and some bright coloured ribbon. Now looking at this photo the layout is pretty plain and I could have punched it up a notch or two by adding some embellishments. Oh well ..... I really think what was inside ($$) was what mattered to Michael anyway.

Action Packed Saturday!

Talk about an action pack Saturday..... Started out attending Karen & Mike renewing their wedding vows then Preston getting Baptised followed by a great lunch. Since we were in the Bothwell area we decided to head to London for a bit of shopping. On the way to London we stopped at one of my favourite stamping stores Scrappin Great Deals for a bit of stamping therapy then onto Costco to pick up a few items. After our shopping excursion we called my cousins to see if they wanted some company and to go out for supper. We decided to head to Talbotville to Wayside Restaurant where we had a super meal and lots of laughs. Definitely will go back to this restaurant again but with a bigger appetite.

This card was created for my co-worker who has a westie pup "Bliss". Bliss is now about 6 months old so for Valentines Day ....Aunt Brenda decided to spoil her once again with a new toy. Rose shared with me several pictures of Bliss playing with her new toy. Whoot whoot.....toy was a hit!

The image was coloured with copics and pencils, layered with nesties, used a decorative edge punch on the beautiful yellow/red DP with a big red bow for the final touch.

What a winter wonderland we have this morning. Amazing how it rains for days then bang wake up to a wintry blustery day. I did attempt to go to Chatham this morning but turned around once I hit Prince Albert Road. The snow was so deep I was sure I was going to get stuck. The poor guys in the plows are having are tough time keeping up to the drifting. Oh well ..... it is Friday and here I am at home having a snow day!

This card was made for a co-worker who just got in a car accident and is off work. So to cheer her up I decided to send a bright bouquet of gerbera daisies with babiesbreath, little bit of greenery in a vase with a beautiful bow along with this card with a message inside "sending smiles your way". The image was coloured with copics and pencils framed with nesties and 4 baubles. Found a "Get Well" dimensional, used my new EK punch to decorate the left side where I added some ribbon and more silver baubles.

Hummm....... I forgot to add Glitter! What the heck was I thinking!

It's Raining .... its Snowing.....

All I can say is Good Grief..... is that Old Man confused or what....... Just when you think there is a hint of spring going to happen with the snow melted and basically gone BAM in comes another storm... first rain then freezing rain then finally snow.

Regardless of the weather my DH and I went to our favourite restaurant last night Rossini's for a fabulous meal and amazing show. Jaimee Paul Jazz Band was there entertaining and it was definitely a top notch performance. Thanks Ed and Berta for a superb dinner and show....... you guys are terrific.

I know Valentines Day is long gone but would like to share the card I gave my hubby. Coloured with copics and shaded with prisma pencils, glitter was added (surprise...surprise), ribbon with a metal heart buckle. Also want to throw in the a picture of the most beautiful roses that DH gave me.....

Had a fabulous weekend....... spent Friday with my BFF, Tracy laughing so hard we could barely breath a bit of vino and an awesome supper prepared by her DH. My hubby & I made it a movie weekend and just relaxed.

Time Flies....

What the heck.... didn't we just finish celebrating Christmas ....... now we are on the doorsteps of Valentines Day. Where does the time go and with getting older it is going like 90. Uggghh .... I need this ride to slow down. I am sure a lot of us out there feel the same way so my question is how can we slow things down?

Here is a card that I think reflects taking time for yourself...a bit of soaking, pampering in the tub...ahhh now doesn't that sound fabulous... don't forget about that glass of wine and some relaxing tunes in the background...ok now I think I need to go for a spa weekend somewhere.... Any takers out there?

This Stamping Bella image was coloured using copics and prisma pencils. The image and coordinating papers were cut from my nesties along with the cute flower in the corner where I added a gem brad for the centre. An EK punch was used to edge the purple strip then wrapped in shimmery purple ribbon. Thought the water needed a bit of sparkle so added glitter and a few blue plastic dots (not sure what they are really called) to emphasize the bubbles.

Kid Rock!

I was sooo privileged to attend the biggest 40th Birthday party Detroit has ever experienced. Kid Rock turned 40 and he put on a concert at Ford Field like nobodies business with 55,000 fans. Tickets sold out within minutes but I was fortunate to have been able to get some. Without a doubt the best concert I have ever attended. Many extra appearances like Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow, Uncle Kracker, MC and Cindy Crawford. Jimmy Johnson presented the Kid with a shiny 2011 black camaro with a racing number 40 on the side.....wow...love to have that baby!

Coloured this card with copics and pencils for sweet little Shaunee who is turning 9 years old. Actually this image looks a lot like Shaunee who always ends up with an armful of presents.

I'm listening to the news this morning and they are claiming some major snow coming our way......yippeee would that mean a "snow day". Even though we are just getting over holidays I just wouldn't mind another day to veg and snuggle up watching a movie or two. Now on the other hand work wouldn't like it because that would not help with the budget $$'s. Often wondered..............How do you budget weather????

On to my card....... Here is a card for those dog lovers out there. Basically a quick colour using copics, cut from nesties, cuttlebug embossed white base, EK edge blue paper wrapped with sheer white ribbon.

I have been suffering with a head/chest cold all week so I think today I am going to sit back relax and do some colouring, but before I veg out for the day I want to show you the birthday card I created for my sweet nephew Ethan. The E-man is a 6 year old entertaining, comical young man who is growing sooo tall, which must come from the other side of the family because anyone who know my side were stretching it at 5 foot 3 inches.

Love this image from Stamping Bella. It could have been a Christmas card but since Ethan is a winter baby I thought it would be perfect for him as well as the naughtiness I see in this young lads face. The image was coloured using copics and prisma pencils, cut out with nesties, all layered on a cuttlebug embossed cream base with green tone glittery DP accented with a sheer green ribbon.

Happy New Year to everyone and hope you celebrated in style! We have been away since Christmas Day and had a great time but it sure is nice to be back home to my dog and my bed. I can officially say that I am on vacation for 2 weeks starting tomorrow.....whoot whoot.... What to do what to do...... I see R&R in my future. It has been a busy few months so looking forward to this down time.

Once I got my mail outs completed I really wanted to show some love to some other Christmas Holiday stamps so here is a Stamping Bella image that I coloured up using copics and prisma pencils which was cut out using my nesties and layered on some bright DP with a shimmery ribbon. For the snow I used liquid pearls and glitter. You really can't see in the picture but used clear accents for the windows to give that 3D affect.

These are the cards that I created for the majority of my mail outs. I love the look of that one pop of colour on the image. I used basically the same layout just changed up the papers, ribbon, and embellishments to make them just a bit different. The Impression Obsession image was stamped with black momento ink and the only thing I coloured was the Santa Hats with prisma pencils. For the white on the hats I mixed white flocking with glitter (of course). Taaa Daaa! Quick and simple.

Circle of Snowmen!

This card was truly one of the quickest colours I have done this season. Coloured the snowmen hats, scarves and noses with prisma pencils then shaded the snowmen with copics in warm grays and pale blue. Glitter was added to the bodies of the snowmen, cut out using my nesties then layered
on DP. Found a piece of Seasons Greetings ribbon I layered over top some glittery brown ribbon then added 6 baubles.

This card and matching gift bag was created for our friends son who had a baby girl.....Leah. We attended a family get together to celebrate the new arrival. Wow.....sooooo many gifts.....and what adorable clothes, toys, blankets, and etc. What a perfect little baby.....so cute and cuddly, her complexion was like porcelain and those perfectly shaped lips.

Christmas is a Comin.......

In the next few posts I plan on sharing with you a few of my Christmas cards that I have been busy creating. This year I picked a couple of images with little colouring so I could quickly colour them up and do the layout later. For me this worked really well and will have them out in the mail this week. The only downfall to this is ......all the wonderful Christmas images I have didn't get the love they so deserve.

This has got to be one of my favourite images from Stamping Bella. It is truly a very quick image to colour up and looks like you spent hours. The first one was created with the traditional Christmas colours in mind with a simple layout. The wonderful glittery snow made with a mixture of flower soft and glitter, red stickles for the berries on the wreath and fabulous bow really rocked this card.

The second card was created in lighter colours, layered some funky fun fibre over the ribbon, stickles on the wreath and of course flower soft mixed with glitter for the snow. Love these cards and plan to do a few more............

Does everyone have their Christmas cards finished? I seem to be a bit behind with mine since I have been busy making cards for all the November and December birthdays. Anyway thought I would post this card to give you a change from looking at Christmas cards on every ones blog. This Stamping Bella image was the perfect choice for this young lad since he is really into gaming & computers. I coloured the image with prisma pencils & gamsol, layered using nesties onto DP paper then finished by adding some baubles and glitter.

Today my sister, niece and nephew are coming over and we are going to have a crafty day together doing some Christmas cards and if time prevails I may throw in another little project. I plan to take lots of pictures and will share our creations on my next post.

Created this card for a friend/co-worker who just adopted another Westie pup that she named "Bliss". I figured Aunt Bren should welcome Bliss to her new home with a card and doggie teething toy..... which I found at a pet store. Didn't realize that there were teething toys for puppies. LOL
This Stamping Bella image was the perfect choice to colour up using copics & prisma pencils, glitter pen for the flowers in the dress, layered using nesties. Finished by edging the DP paper and adding a bow.

Open House a Great Success!

Today my BFF, Tracy , one of Kimmie's Krafty Girls and I went to the Paper Pickle's annual open house. The store was filled with women buzzing, chatting and sharing creative ideas, the make and takes were amazing, copic demo by Linda Heavens, & Pauline Godfrey another Bella Babe show casing some marvelous cards. Kelly's baked goods were to die for...........and oh yes my favourite was the chocolate covered peanut balls ohhhhh soooo very yummy! The store was jumping and really got me in the spirit to get working on my Christmas cards. Ah yes..... who could leave without purchasing a few of the "must haves". Thanks ladies........great day had by all.

This is one of my favourite stamps that I use all the time and to no surprise picked it again for this masculine card. We celebrated my BFF's hubby's birthday last night with a bit of Vino and going out for a dinner. Great time!!!

Lest We Forget.

What a simply picture perfect fall day. Just relaxing at home today and creating a few cards here and there. Last week I was in the big city of Toronto for 2 days of training taking "Training 101" which will help me in my new position as the Training Facilitator for the Municipality. Since I was in the area I HAD to go to Stamping Bella's store. This was the first time ever stepping foot inside the store and was blown away at all the stamps on the walls. Yikes......and to think that I have a pretty good chunk of them. Great therapy!!!

This card was created for a little boy who's absolute favourite colour is orange. The base of the card is orange layered with blue, orange and green glittery paper with matching DP, added some ribbon, grommets and baubles. I sprayed glue on the l & k (his initials) then added some sparkly orange glitter to set it off. I tried to incorporate as much orange as possible. Quite sure he will love it.

Goodness ...... can't believe it is the end of October already. The last couple of weeks at work have been a blurr and the next 2 weeks are going to be just as bad......ok....deep breath....yes you can do this......

A couple of weeks ago I took my beautiful niece Taya and handsome nephew Ethan to see Peter Pan in Stratford. I was very impressed with the performance and must say one of the best stage sets I have seen......Well done.

Last weekend celebrated our friends wedding. It was perfect in every way. My 2 pisters and I danced and laughed all night. One of the best times in a long while......Cheers to Laurie and Linda....great time and love you both very much!

Created this card for a male birthday. The image is from some peel off stickers I have had for some time..then decided to pull out ALL those pens I HAD to have to colour with...... I do love these pens because they are soooo glittery and actually quite easy to use. I added the sticker image to watercolour paper, using a small amount of glittery blue pen, water and fine tipped paint brush coloured in the leaves. Cut the image with nesties, layered on mirror gold paper, added brown ribbon, gold baubles, layered on shimmery blue on a brown base. This was so quick and simple I think I will be making a few more...which will help to use up some of my stash.

One could not ask for a better Thanksgiving weekend. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, fall colours are painted in every direction you turn. We are heading over to my Pister #2's for our family Thanksgiving supper. Looking forward to seeing my niece Kristen who has been working soooo very hard in her 4th year of nursing. I am so proud of her! My other niece Jodi is just getting home from Vegas and I am sure she has a few tales to tell.

Here is a card that I created for our friends wedding on October 23, 2010. The base of the card is shimmery linen, layered with a shimmery kelly green finished with a rose pattern vellum. I embossed the wedding rings in silver cut out with my nesties, added pearl baubles a little glitter to the diamond in the ring to give that extra sparkle finishing with a wide champagne ribbon. For the inside I created a little pocket to add the gift of money which was edged with a scalloped heart style EK punch and then found a booklet of Love phrases on vellum.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I took Friday off and my BFF Tracy and I hung out for the day. We hit some specialty shops and did some major damage to our bank accounts, had a fabulous lunch at Chilled Cork and finished up with a bit of merlot!

On Saturday Tracy is heading to London to the first Kraftin Kimmie Bash as one of the Krafty Girls. Once again lets congratulate Tracy on her new role as a Krafty Girl and when you get a chance check out her blog that is full of inspiration!!!!

I needed a masculine card so came up with this design. Stamped the image using multi colour inks, clear embossed then layered using my nesties. The base of the card is a very rich 'eggplant' colour, used my scor pal creating a frame where I layered gold and deep purple ribbon and finished by adding 3 gold and 3 purple buttons. The gold & purple colours I used in this card look absolutely royal!

Created this card this morning for a wedding shower that I am attending later today. Sarah ...soon to be bride....loves dragonflies and part of the gift I gave her consisted of dragonfly wall art so when I found this dragonfly paper I was very excited because it was the perfect match to her theme and her love for dragonflies.

Basically quite a simple card, used swiss dot cuttlebug folder for the yellow base and scored it using my scor pal, tied on some pretty green/white dotted ribbon. Sarah's favourite colour is green (mine too) and the main colour for her wedding so felt the need to tie that colour in the card. Added some green, white and dragonfly paper as the focal point of the card adding a bit of glitter to the wings to give that extra bling!

It has been one fabulous long weekend. Actually I had a exceptionally long weekend because I decided to take Thursday and Friday off as well. Definitely a well needed break considering hubby and I have not taken any vacation this summer other than the odd day here and there.

Coloured this Mo Manning "So Jazzed" image with prisma pencils and gamsol then stamped out Happy Birthday and have it appear to be coming out of the horn. Cut out the image using nesties then layered on orange, green and patterned Basic Grey paper finished with 3 baubles and a bit of stardust glitter pen.

Cannonball Contest!

Another successful Annual Family Cannonball Contest. Every year we get together at my brothers home and have a cannonball contest. This years winners was my niece Jodi for the girls and nephew Ethan for the boys. Entertainment was spot on and the food was fabulous. Thanks Dale & Steph for your hospitality as always! Here is a pic of the 2 winners.

The sad part about this family get together is a reminder that summer is coming to an end, kids are getting ready to go back to school and summer vacations are done. Cheers to 2010 Family Cannonball Contest!

Now on to my card..... I needed to make a quick "Thinking of You" card to take to the gym for staff & friends to sign for a member who is having hip surgery. Larry is such a genuine person who faithfully works out each morning and is always smiling, friendly and encouraging to everyone. Here's to you Larry.....you will be back working out better than ever!

The image was stamped with versamark and sprinkled with blue, green and gold embossing powders. As always cut using my nesties and layered on striped and gold mirrored DP paper. Added a gold ribbon and 3gold baubles and ta da!!! Quick and simple.

Some of my favourite images I love to colour up are Sarah Kay stamps. They are just adorable and what little girl wouldn't love to get one for their birthday! Coloured using pencils and gamsol, added some stardust for a bit of glitter then cut out using my nesties. Edged one side of the DP using my Martha Stewart punch then layered on a brown base and finished with a sheer brown ribbon.

I sure have one dilly of a head cold. This is not fun and especially in the summer. Started with a sore throat Friday night and a bit on Saturday then woke up on Sunday with a full blown cold feeling feverish, congested, sneezing and watery eyes. Ugggh !

OK....enough of the poor me........and on to my card. This is the card I made for my DH's birthday on Monday. We didn't end up doing much considering I spent most of the day in bed sick. Once I get feeling better I will have to make it up to him. Hmmmm....... let me think about that! Coloured the Bella image with copics and pencils, added a bit of glitter to the image, cut out with my nesties, layered on DP, added brown ribbon and 3 buttons.

Hey Tracy......thought of you when I was putting this card together and noticed how matchy match everything is..............Who would match their outfit to the balloons???

Hope all my Canadian followers are having a great Civic Weekend. Is it not amazing how much you can jam pack into a long weekend. I vote for 3 day weekends all year long! Had the perfect job request this weekend......"Rib Cook Off" judge. What better job could one ask for and the ribs were all sooooo yummy.

We had a busy weekend.....lots of activities and events happening for a small community of 2200 people. Friday we entertained guests on our deck with a BBQ and a few drinks then mostly everyone headed off to the local fair.

Saturday, was the "Great Canadian Tractor Parade" which was coordinated to raise money for Cancer Research. This has got to be one of the most moving events I have ever witnessed. To think ...... one gentleman thought it would be a fun idea to beat the 601 Guinness Book of World records for the most tractors in a parade. The energy and the excitement of a small community working together to pull off such an event was phenomenal. We did beat the record in fact we more than doubled the record with 1231 tractors. Watching and seeing so many people that I knew taking part in parading through the streets was very moving. You knew that each person at some point has dealt with cancer in some fashion. Seriously choked me up since I too have lost loved ones with this terrible disease. Hats off to everyone in the community who volunteered their time and raised so much money for such a worthy cause!!!

OMG..........is it humid out there or what? Walked out on the deck this morning and it was like waking into a brick wall. Yesterday was basically the same........yikes the hair does not like this weather......Frizzz City! Uggg!!! Even after using a flat iron to help control the waves & curls .....5 minutes of being outside you swear I just got out of bed.

Coloured this image using copics and pencils, cut out with my nesties and layered using Basic Grey DP to a green base. For a few embellishments I added some glitter to the tea cup, a ribbon and layered wine & green coloured buttons along the side.

Quiet Weekend!

How unusual for us to have a quiet weekend in the middle of summer..... mind you it was quite fine by me considering it always seems we are burning the candle at both ends these days! Went to a birthday party Friday night then worked around home most of the day Saturday, decided to order a pizza and stay in for the evening. Today we went out for breakfast and then grocery shopping, friends dropped in so had a great visit in the gazebo. Now getting ready for another work week!!!

In my last post I sure got a big chuckle after reading my BFF's comment............. apparently I thought I coloured a muffin but in actual fact it was an ice cream cone.............. I guess that just proves my point that I have no business in a kitchen.

Just wondering if anyone could help me out with my picture taking............. the pictures I take of my cards sure do not do them any justice. No matter what settings I try they are not bright and vibrant like I think they should be.................HELP ME! I don't know what I am doing wrong.

All I can say is this birthday cupcake looks far better than anything I could ever possibly bake! My family and friends can definitely vouch for that. Oh well can't be good at everything...LOL

This card was created for a young lad who is having a birthday next week. Wow....actually ahead of the game here...... The image was coloured with copics and shaded with pencils, glitter added to the icing of the cupcake and layered using red and brown. Cuttlebug folder used on the green strip, layered on brown with blue rhinestones in the corners.

Summer is Here!!

It has been quite the heat wave here lately.....but I am not complaining since it is far better than 2 feet of snow with freezing winds. Life has been busy and hope that it slows up a bit so I can get back into card making. I seem to have been neglecting all my wonderful, treasured stamping supplies and they are crying out to be loved once again!!!

This card was created for a dear friend who has been going through a real tough time the last month by first losing her mother and now her sister. My thoughts and prayers go out to her.

Used versamark and cream embossing powder for the butterflies then sponged on green, yellow and dark brown ink around the butterflies then layered on black for that extra pop. All layered over a square cream base with DP paper and black ribbon.

Call me crazy but I have to admit I do enjoy going fishing. I find it quite peaceful and relaxing when life gets going too fast. Of course I have to be with my DH so he puts the worm on the hook and takes the fish off when I catch one but other than that I pretty much do it all...........LOL LOL....

This card was created for the Charisma Cardz Challege which was a Birthday Card with a candle on top. I needed a card for sweet Michael's birthday so this will work perfectly. Coloured this High Hopes image with copics, added a bit of glitter, all cut out with nesties and layered on DP. As I was putting the card together I happened to glance to the left of my work station and spotted my crop-a-dile which I know I haven't used in some time so decided to add 3 orange grommets. Thought this would be a better choice than ribbon for a boy.

Snow Angel

At work we have an "Accessibility Committee" and I was asked to create a card and frame set for a volunteer aka....."SNOW ANGEL" who goes out and shovels snow for people who are not able.

The gift was a Willow Tree Angel and frame set. The image on the card is from Stamping Bella, coloured in copics, glittered the wings and mixed the glitter and the white flocking for the clouds. Cut the image with my nesties, layered on brown, the base of the card in cream layered with sparkly DP.

For the centre of the frame I used the Willow Tree Angel image set as a watermark then stamped some swirls on the outer edge which was embossed with glittery powder. The saying for the frame says:

Last night went to the local Legion for wing night and meat raffle........ton of laughs as usual.....fun had by all. So today.....needless to say was a quiet relaxing day.....just did up a bit of laundry but on the most part not a lot of anything.

Coloured Ketto's Dolly from Stamping Bella with copics added a chipboard heart layered with glitter paper and popped up on an angle beside the image. The EZ scalloped heart edge punch works perfectly with this Valentine card.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and ready for another exciting week ahead. On Saturday my DH and I decided to head to Windsor to Costco to pick up a few much needed items then over to Future Shop to check out some laptops. Still trying to decide which make and model to go with....... "any help out there"? Anyway afterwards we went to the Windsor Casino for what was suppose to be a couple of hours. Well as it turns out an very nice person who I was chatting with gave me a ticket to go see Kool and the Gang...... and much to my surprise the ticket was 2nd row from the stage.....amazing. They put on a performance like there was no tomorrow. People were rock'n and dance'n ...........what a party. Sure brought back a flood of memories. A Very big Thank You to Vickie.....from Ohio.... who gave me this ticket ...you definitely made my night.

My handsome little nephew just celebrated his 5th birthday in Cuba.... now isn't that quite the birthday present. I gave him his gift the day before they flew out knowing he had his heart set on purchasing some castanets in Cuba. My brother called last night just after getting back and said no castanets came home ....... however a ukulele did and he has been playing it for the last 5 days.... Good luck with that Bro!!!!

Here is my 2nd card using very limited supply of copics.... Didn't think it turned out too bad. The perfect card for my little man since he started playing ball last summer. Decided to colour The Greetings Farm image in the Oakland A's colours but with an "E" on the ball cap. Did notice afterwards that I forgot to ground the ball player but oh well............

Wintery Day!!!

We finally got a blanket of snow .......... it was the most beautiful site on the way to work yesterday.......... everything snow capped and picture perfect. This week flew by at work... back to new and exciting challenges. Have I told everyone lately how much I love my new job. Yes I'm still with the Municipality but a different position. I can actually say that I enjoy getting up each morning knowing I am heading to a job that I love. So thankful I took that leap to apply for the Learning and Development Assistant position in the HR Department. It is sooooo easy to fall into that routine comfort zone and not try different things.

Made this card for my BFF Tracy...... as we always exchange cards and gifts at Christmas. Decided to create something I do not normally do and that is cut out images. It was basically a very simple card ...... stamped the spruce tree branch then covered with MS glitter for the snow, then stamped out the ornaments on chipboard and cut them out, added some glittery silver bonbons from Stampin Bella, white ribbon bows all mounted on white with mirrored silver card stock and some gorgeous glittery DP.

Hope everyone brought in the New Year with a bang!!! My hubby and I celebrated the New Year at my BFF Tracy's of Buttons Ribbons and Pearls. She is always the hostest with the mostest..... Great night had by all. We chit chatted and had many awesome snacks and of course some fabulous wine....watched the ball drop with a glass of champagne. Thanks Tracy your the best!!!

I started 2010 doing something I have never done before.....no longer a "copic virgin". How I got started with this new venture was at the Paper Pickle (my favourite local stamping store) where Linda Heavens of Heavens Created This or aka "Lindabella" was doing a copic demo..... so thought while I was there I would give it a whirl. Well...........do I need to say more....

I coloured this card using the very limited copic colours in my possession (at this time) and must say OMG......I am in love. I have purchased a few more and waiting not so patiently for their arrival. Decided on this simple image by Penny Black for Kenadie's 1st Birthday. Coloured with copics, cut out with nesties, added a ribbon and some glitter to the balloons. This is my first copic card....let me know what you think!!!!!!!

How I love having a few extra days off work doing a lot of nothing. Yesterday...Pister #2 and I decided to head to London and visit our cousin and take her out for lunch. It was so great catching up on things. Today my friend Lesley is coming over for a visit and I am going break her into the world of card making. She has always loved the cards I have given her but has never made any..............well today is a new day. I will have to keep you posted on our crafting afternoon.

Looking back at my previous posts I guess you can say trees was my passion this year for Christmas cards. This photo does not show the amazing glitz and sparkle that is in real life. Changed up the colours for this card to browns and various greens. The DP is soooo sparkly and glittery... I guess that is why I had to have it. Stamped the image with versamark and heat embossed in brown embossing powder, added Martha Stewart glitter to the tree, cut out with my nesties then added a brown bow.

Here is another version of my simple elegant Christmas cards. I wanted the colours to be non traditional so went with very glitter pink DP mounted on mirrored silver paper. Heat embossed the tree with sparkly silver embossing powder, cut out with nesties then added Martha Stewart's glitter. I love this glitter .......truly amazing and looks just like snow and for the final touch added a silver ribbon.

How cute is this guy....gotta love this stamp from Stamping Bella. It really was a quick easy card with little colouring. Used my prisma pencils, added white flock to his hat, crystal affects was added to the decorations on the tree and sprinkled with glitter and to the snow. Used snowflake nestie and some ribbon for the final touch.

Wow........has it been cold and windy here the last few days so I guess winter is officially upon us. Good time to stay indoors and get a few more cards completed to mail out. Tonight is my work Christmas party and really looking forward to it...great food and awesome entertainment. Sunday I am having my annual Christmas card making day with my sisters, SIL, and nieces. Definitely will have to post some pics from this event.

On to the card....... Coloured the Impression Obsession image using prisma pencils, added glitter, cut with my nesties then layered on red. The base is peacock green (at least that is what I call it) layered with red and basic grey dp. Decided to wrap red ribbon around the paper and added a buttony bow.

Simple Christmas Cards

Christmas is a comin.....and my cards aren't done!!! How many others out there are in same boat? So........I decided to do a few simple cards with no colouring. I pulled out my Christmas tree embossing folder and added a few shiny metallic stickers and gems for ornaments and of course glitter to give that sparkle that I just can't resist. The embossed tree was mounted on mirrored silver card stock, added a white/silver bow and the sentiment is a peel off sticker. I quite liked the look and elegance of this card so decided to changed up the colours in the second card by using a red base. These cards took no time at all and at this point of the game..........this is what I needed to do.

Here is a Birthday card I created in between all the Christmas cards I am trying to get done. I threw this card together real fast for a young boy's birthday. Coloured this High Hopes image using my prisma pencils, cut out with my nesties, layered on burnt red paper then added a birthday cake charm. Simple layout using Basic Grey DP then added some burnt red buttons. Simple yet cute.... don't you think.

Black Tie Affair!

What a fabulous weekend......the weather was amazing and was able to get many things accomplished. Spent some time doing yard work, then off to the arena on Saturday and Sunday to watch Cammy play in a hockey tournament. The two games I watched were awesome, quite nerve racking to be exact because it came down to the last couple of minutes of play to win the tournament. The evenings were fairly quiet so was able to get a start on my Christmas cards .

These cards were cased from Running with Scissors by Leslie Miller except I used black & cream card stock and "black magic" embossing powder. The pics do not capture the outstanding glittery .... shimmery affect as in real life and depending how you hold the card what colour is prominent.

I was reading Always with a Heart by Jules and she made mention that she was uncertain about using black for Christmas. Not sure what others think of the black and cream colours for Christmas but to me they are "simply elegant" like attending a black tie affair. Here's to you Jules.........!!!!

When you have 4 daughters and 12 grandchildren gift buying is pretty much out of the question so money is the perfect choice especially when they love to go "Boxing Day" shopping. So once again mass production time making money holders.

The size of the money holder is 7 x 4 when folded. I cut the base cream card stock 7" x 9" and scored at 7 1/4" and 3" mark. I used Scenic Route Paper Co. dp paper which is colour coordinated in strips. After cutting the DP in strips I mixed and matched gluing on the cream base. I didn't want to use envelopes so threw around some ideas how to keep the holders closed. As you can see ribbon won out. The snowflakes were punched from Martha Stewarts punch where I added a brad to the centre for the final touch.

So glad I was able to get these done in record time so I can start my Christmas cards for mailing.

Mass Production!!!

It has been hard to get back into the swing of things from being on vacation and then getting back and starting my new position. Thank goodness I got my Mojo back because I had an order for 30 Thank You cards. I have not done a mass production (so to speak) so I knew it had to be fairly simple so I wouldn't get frustrated making so many cards. I took a similar card that I had created in the past and changed the colours and kept to a simple layout.

The scripted leaf image was stamped with versamark then added brown & gold embossing powder which is common on each image then decided to change up the 3rd colour in blue then terra cotta then green. The base of the card was matched to the 3rd colour of embossing powder and then scored with my scor pal. Each image was cut from my nesties and mounted on brown card stock. On the inside I added a pocket for the gift card and an insert for the "Thanks so Much" sentiment.

Now that I have this order completed I need to give some thought to my Christmas cards which I need to get working on.

Here are the pics of the mini scrapbook I promise to show you!!! Kristen and I had a terrific time putting this together. We are very similar when it comes to glitz, bling and sparkle whether it is in jewelry, clothes or purses so that is why we had no problem adding the embellishments to this project. I think it turned out fairly well considering this is something I seldom ever do.

I am so very proud of Kristen and the profession she has chose and I know without a doubt she will be amazing at it and make a difference. Love you Kristen................see you when you get home again.

Yesterday I spent all afternoon with my wonderful niece Kristen. Had to laugh when she facebooked me asking for help with a school project. Was a bit leery at first since she is in her 3rd year nursing at McMaster University and couldn't quite figure what I could possibly help her with in this field. The project was to put together something creative as to why she chose this profession. We had a blast picking out colours, papers, embellishments.........Kristen did the writing while I did the designing. I will show pictures of our little mini scrapbook in my next post once it is completely done.

This card was created for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog (birthday card), Charisma Cardz (recipe) and Stamp TV (sketch). Coloured the image with prisma pencils, added glitter and stickles then layered on kelly green. The base is soft green with DP and hot pink shimmery paper, added a ribbon duo in hot pink and yellow with three shiny flowers with a bauble for the centre. Decided to add the "Happy Birthday" charm to Francesca's hand..... The perfect touch for Kimmie's first Birthday challenge.

Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving Weekend. We are going to take it easy this weekend since we are heading to Vegas on Friday. My plan is to have the bags packed and all last minute type things done by Monday. I just like to be organized and not be rushed and stressed the day before leaving.

Created this card for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and as well as for the House Mouse DT call. I think these little guys are just adorable. Stamped the image with versafine, coloured using my favourite prisma pencils, added glitter (of course) cut the image with nesties, added baubles to each corner and layered on DP circle and pale yellow base finished with 3 gems.

Yesterday my BFF Tracy and I decided to head to Komoka to Scrappin Great Deals Store to be part of Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner Stamp launch. When we got there the store was jammed with ladies sharing Kimmie's "Dream Come True".

The store owner Sheila ...a sweet heart of a gal... put on quite the splash with free make and takes, demos, munchies and a store wide 15% discount. Thanks Sheila.......for helping me add to my ever growing collection.

The pure excitement and positive energy that flowed through the store was overwhelming. Had the opportunity to meet a number of very talented ladies that I follow in the blogging world. Today I am off to Stratford for a special day with my niece Taya as well as brother Dale and SIL Steph. Were stopping in London first to find some specific wine my brother has been looking for then to Moxie's for supper. The performance we are seeing is Westside Story which starts at 8:00. Stratford is one of my favourite places to spend time..... between the quaint little shops to tea houses it is just an amazing town.

Created this card for the House Mouse and Fresh & Fun 100th challenge. I coloured the image using prisma colour pencils, added stickles to the little berries and glitter pen to the leaves. All was cut out with my nesties and layered on some awesome DP on golden/orange base.

Well better be off to a fabulous day away.

This week here in Chatham-Kent has been quite windy to say the least. I don't mind the cool weather but the wind is a different story. Had time tonight to do a bit of crafting and picked this cute little guy from High Hopes. This card was created for Whimsy Stamps, The Little Paper Shop, The Pink Elephant and High Hopes challenges. I absolutely love High Hopes stamps...and they are celebrating 1 year challenge blog so decided to create this card to say "Thanks" and keep bringing on those marvelous stamps.

As usual coloured using my prisma pencils, added some glitter and cut out with my nesties, then layered on orange. The base of the card is olive green with polka dot DP, added a green strip that was cuttlebug embossed and edged with my EK punch then added 2 eyelets and a gem brad. Finished by using the tag nestie and orange/burnt red ribbon.

I have had a fabulous few days ..... starting on Thursday with a Spa Day then going to see Great Big Sea concert to a wild and crazy wine tour on Saturday. Definitely has been a fun filled few days. Today having a bit of down time since it is back to work tomorrow.

I have been waiting so ..... ever so patiently for Scrappin Great Deals to get their shipment of The Greeting Farm images in their store. They finally came in and as luck could have it they were having free shipping so quickly placed my order. This is one of the Anya stamps which I coloured using my prisma pencils, added glitter to her bow and dress then used my nesties to layer up. Decided to do the sketch challenge from the Splendid Stamping with The Greeting Farm blog. Spa Day

My DH is off to Delaware, Ohio to the Little Brown Jug so I decided to take Thursday and Friday off work and have a bit of "me" time. Work has been very busy and stressful to say the least so took this opportunity to book myself at 9:00 AM for a "Mango Scrub Body Wrap" and a facial. Wow.....that sure did the trick because I found myself sooooo relaxed that I almost fell asleep on her comfy table. What a morning........started at 9:00 AM and didn't get home until 1:30 PM.

This card was created for 4 different challenges. Whimsy Stamps use of buttons, the layout is from The Pink Elephant, Stampavie for Autumn and Color Throwdown to use any or all of these colours mustard, olive, rose red, regal rose and chocolate.

The base of the card is textured mustard, layered with basic grey DP, coloured the Sarah Kay image prisma colour pencils and added some pink stickles for some sparkle then used my nesties and layered on olive card stock then finished with 3 buttons and a bow.

Well..... so far I am doing what I was hoping to this weekend. I have one card done with hopes of doing a few more. This card was created for the Delightful Sketches challenge which was "fall colours" and Whimsy Stamps challenge was the layout.

This is one of my favourite stamps by Stampington & Company, "Scripted Leaf". I applied versamark to the image and sprinkled various "fall" colour embossing powders and heat set. The base of the card is muted yellow layered with burnt orange and DP. The image was layered on green and mustard with ribbon tied around one end then finished with 3 burnt red buttons.

The sun is shining so bright with definite warmth in it so I think I am going to spend a bit of time in my gazebo colouring some images.

Hopefully this will be the case "quiet weekend". Last weekend we spent in Port Credit at the "Southside Shuffle". This is an annual Blues Festival where they close down the streets and bands play all day long. The weather was perfect and the music was fabulous. This weekend we have no real plans and I quite like that.....quiet and hopefully some card making time.

I created this card for the Crazy 4 Challenge and Charisma Cardz Challenge. The base of the card is black and layered with pink and yellow, 4 black square that were ticket punched where I added a square green gem. The image was coloured with my prisma colour pencils and added some stickles for that sparkle that I love so much!!!

Love doing these types of cards......they are simple yet so elegant. Shimmery white base layered with cuttlebug embossed aqua/teal, added pearls to each corner and wrapped in white sheer ribbon. The image is from Stamping Bella coloured with prisma pencils added some glitter and clear gems layered using my nesties.

My DH brought home this box and I was totally amazed when I started digging inside and pulled out soooooo much stuff. Good grief it seemed to go on forever. Does anyone remember that song???? Thats all I think about when I see the Lulu Collection from Stamping Bella. LOL LOL......... I know there are different versions to this song as well.....but not for blog content...

I was so excited with Monday being a holiday and I had all my house duties caught up I would be able to spend the day creating......well let me tell you..... It took me an entire day to do 1 card and at the end of it all was not real impressed. Needless to say I was very frustrated and thought I was loosing my MOJO.

Until.......After work on Tuesday I threw together this card in about an hours time from start to finish. It amazes me how you can spend hours and get nothing accomplished and then basically without much thought put together this card in less that an hour. "What is with that"

I chose The Pink Elephant Colour challenge using red, black, yellow and white and also the Flourishes sketch challenge .... which I did in reverse. The base of the card is in sparkly black, layered with some DP with a strip of pale yellow edged with MS punch. The image is from Stamping Bella called Gertie from the Lulu Collection which was coloured with prisma pencils with yellow glitter added to the edge of her skirt and to the butterflies. Layered the image on red and yellow cut from nesties and finished with a red button tied with black ribbon.

Hope everyone is having a great Labour Day Weekend. I decided to take the Friday off as well and have a Niece/Auntie day. Kristen is heading back to McMaster University for her 3rd year in the nursing program so wanted to spend some quality time before she heads back. We decided to go to Windsor and spend the day shopping and lunching. Must say we do shop very well together and were able to pick up some bargains. Love these special times.

This High Hopes image was coloured with prisma colour pencils and accented with glitter pen and to the centres of the sunflowers some crystal affects with glitter to give that extra sparkle. The layout is for the Flourishes "Feel of Fall Challenge and the colours are for High Hopes "Fall into Autumn" challenge.

Take a Load Off

The weather here has been gorgeous so when I got home from work I decided to jump on my bike to relieve the stress and tension from the day. Pister #2 and sweet niece joined me and for an hour and half we peddled and chit chatted. Yes the perfect way to help relieve the tension from the day.

This cute High Hopes image was coloured using my favourite colouring technique "prisma colour pencils" with glitter added to the icing. The base of the card is a goldenrod colour layered with brown and some real glittery DP, ribbon and a couple of brads to the corners.

I will submit this card for The Pink Elephant challenge where you were to use ribbon, 2 squares, and something that sparkles. The second challenge is for the Color Throwdown using the colours brown, pink and green.

Simple Things

How I do enjoy the simple things...... This morning was up bright and early grabbed a cup of java and sat out on the deck listening to the morning sounds. Basically quiet with a few birds chirping in the background. After about 20 minutes I decided to put out some peanuts for the blue jays and squirrels with the hopes of seeing some entertainment. Well let me tell you those Blue Jays must have been waiting for me because within minutes they all came .... for a minute there thought I was in the movie "The Birds"or something like that.... poor squirrels didn't get a sniff. Looked over at the gazebo and seen about 4 Humming Birds coming in for their morning drink. How I love the "Simple Things" in life. I was sooooo content sitting there watching and drinking my morning coffee.

The stamps for this card are from Gina K Designs embossed with white embossing powder on aqua card stock and layered on shimmery white card stock cut from my nesties. The base of the card is from the same aqua paper and cuttlebug embossed, used Scor Pal for the lines added velum on the bottom which was edged with an EK punch then layered the sentiment cut from ribbon tag trio nestie finished with ribbon and a bow.

A Day in the Garden

Yikes...end of August already.....where did the summer go. Even with the cooler weather starting, I want to hold onto summer just a bit longer so this Sarah Kay image was the perfect choice for my inspiration. I love this stamp line.... and the images are soooo super cute!

This card was created for The Pink Elephant sketch challenge and Color Throwdown using one of my favourite colour combinations, pink, blue and celery. Coloured the image using prisma pencils, added Flower Soft to the flowers and layered on green using my nesties. The base of the card is white and decided to use EK edge punch for a bit of flair. Layered with pink and floral DP paper, added silk ribbon to the strip of pink DP and tied up a pink/green bow with a green gem for the centre.

OK.......I really don't want to get off this roller coaster of a winning streak but.....I know it will come to an end soon enough...... but right now I am lovin the ride. My card (from a previous post) was chose for "The Colour Throwdown" challenge. I squealed with delight and I know my DH thought I was off my rocker. Thanks ladies you definitely made me one happy camper.

This card is for the Bella Challenge. Most days this image reminds me of me because yes.....I have gone to work with different colour shoes.

Coloured the image with my prisma colour pencils added a bit of glitter to her hair bands, skirt and shoes. The base is soft orange layered with glitter blue and green paper. Matched the solid paper with some glittery DP paper, added orange grommet to tie the ribbon through. The "Dare to be Different" sentiment is also from Stamping Bella which I cut from my nesties and attached with coloured brads.

As soon as I seen the challenge from Stampin' for the Weekend blog, I knew I was going to make a wedding card. The colours for this challenge was silver and pink. Once I finished the card I could see that it would work nicely for a "Silver Anniversary" occasion.

The base of the card was made from shimmery silver card stock layered with cuttlebug embossed shimmery pink where I added some tiny pearls to the vines. The image was stamped with versamark and embossed in silver, layered on pink, silver and velum cut from my circle nesties. For the diamond in the ring I applied glitter and then some crystal affects to give a bit of dimension. Found the perfect ribbon to finish off the card and added a filigree heart to the bow.

They always say things run in 3's. This has been such a fabulous week starting off with a "Beautiful Blog Award" then being the winner of awesome "Blog Candy" to my card being selected as the "Top 5" for the Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge. Since I was in the Top 5 I get to add their "blinkie" to my blog. WhaaaHoooo!!!!! Must say I am on cloud nine.....

With today starting off as a very rainy Saturday I decided to find some more challenges to submit. This card falls into the Mojo Monday, The Pink Elephant and Charisma Cardz challenges. Ohhh my...........there we go again with that 3 thingy....

The base of the card is lemon with a celery green DP and a strip of green edged with MS circle punch. The flowers in each corner were done with nesties from DP and pink paper which I layered and added a gem brad. Coloured the Penny Black Stamp with my prisma pencils and added glitter to the flower and finished with a pale pink bow.

First I want to tell you I was the winner of the "birthday" blog candy on "Memories to Make" by Tina Gilliland. Tina celebrated her birthday by visiting Gina K Designs in Wisconsin. Here is the card I created for the Color Throwdown Challenge which consisted of 3 colours, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. The base of the card is the soft suede layered with the dusty durango and dark green. For the embellishments I added blue tabs with buttons, tied cord on the one side and added a brass dragonfly brad. The image was coloured using prisma pencils, added crystal affects to the wings of the dragonfly and glitter to the water for that sparkle affect.

I know I just posted a similar card but this stamp was perfect for the Days Gone By, Vintage style card for the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge and Colour Throwdown challenge using the combination of black, melon, crushed curry and kraft colours.

The image was coloured with my prisma pencils, added some glitter to the flowers, accented with gold smooch and added pearl baubles to the necklace. Daubed various colour inks to the cuttlebug embossed kraft base and around the image to give that old tattered look. Found 3 vintage metal ovals and attached brads to the centre for some interest. Rubbed antique linen ink to the white ribbon to give it an aged look.

Coloured this Penny Black stamp with my prisma pencils, added crystal affects to the balloons for a bit of dimension then sprinkled on some glitter. The base of the card is very light turquoise layered with darker turquoise strips that were edged and DP layered on brown. The image was cut from my nesties and layered on dark turquoise, added a few baubles to the corners and on the brown strip and taaadaa.... complete and sooooo GLITTERY!!!

Mojo Monday 98

It has been raining here basically all day so took advantage of the situation and got out the new stamps that I purchased and started colouring.

Here is one of the stamps from Impression Obsession I picked up on my shopping trip. This image brought back memories of having coffee at my Grandmother's house where she always used the most beautiful cup and saucers.

This card was created for MOJO98 challenge. I coloured with my prisma pencils added gold Smooch on the rim of the cup and saucer to give that 24K gold look. The pearls were painted with white Smooch and while it was still wet I sprinkled on some glitter. The base of the card is moss green then layered with DP and the image was layered with blue and shiny gold paper. For the final touch added a burnt red ribbon with a matching button on the bow.
